This week’s theme from Debbie for One Word Sunday is RUSH
The humble RUSH thrives in moist boggy areas so, needless to say, there’s plenty of it to be found in the Irish countryside!!

Nice photos, having Nature its basic part.
Thank you – glad you enjoyed…..XXXMarie
I love the greenness of these landscapes 🙂
And the wildness – I love barren landscapes. XXXMarie
I adore scenes like these.
Me too!!! And we have SO many of them!!!
A familiar landscape to me. We used to hie down to the rush bed at the bottom of the bog to get the bigges, fullest rushes to smoke. I don’t know if they tasted like cigarettes but I think it shows the power of role models, that myself and my 3 cousins on holiday in the grandparents, at ages from say 6 – 9, were aping the adults in wanting to smoke. It felt glamourous, and smoking the illicit rushes was the nearest we could come to actual tobacco.
That’s hilarious Mari!!!! Did you actually light them???
I’d be in a rush to get there and the stop rushing and enjoy. What a beautiful spot and a clever take on “rush.”

I was actually going through photos looking for rushing water – and spotted some rushes! We’ve spent so much time this past 18 months or so travelling through the countryside that I’d no bother putting a selection together.
A wonderful collection of beautiful photos, Marie 🙂
Thank you Aiva … a familiar scene to you ….. we live in a beautiful place
This was an unexpected interpretation, not in a hurry at all. So green and relaxing to see these views.
You’re right… the opposite of RUSH!!!
