Each week, Dr. B from Buddha Walks into a Wine Bar selects a single theme to point our cameras at or to encourage us to display a few photos from our collections. I certainly don’t present myself as a photographer but I’m happy to root through my photos and select the most passable!!!
This week’s challenge is KITCHEN
Well that sounded easy… until I read the small print! Kitchen items close up or macro. No rummaging through blurry holidays snaps this week!!
Macro is way beyond my pay grade but here are my KITCHEN BOUQUETS:

If you would like to join Dr B in #challengeyourcamera then here’s what to do:
Follow Dr B (link above) to discover the chosen weekly theme.
2. Select or take a few photos related to the week’s theme
3. Post your own photos that week, on any day you like.
4. Include a caption with each photo so we all know what/where it is
5. Include a ping back/link to Dr B’s blog in your post so that he’s notified, can follow you back and can appreciate and comment on your choices.
In addition:
Dr. B will follow you back
2. He will encourage other posters to follow you
3. He will list each blogger in my weekly post.
It’ll be fun, why not join in?
Love it!! 💐👏 M
Thank you Marilyn! 😘
Beautiful images, good colour and composition. You might need them in a couple of weeks time!! Have you tried close ups? Do you use a camera or a phone? Most modern phones and digital cameras can easily handle macro. Try getting close to your coloured vase, one part of the decoration and let your lens deal with it. I do half of my macro stuff with an iPhone. Start practicing for Monday 😂😂🤫🤫
Thank you for your nice words of support. Not sure what you’re planning ahead though!!! I’ve a Nikon but its permanently set at ‘P’ – I’ve started an online course so just need to practice a bit. But in the few weeks since I’ve begun, I’m just seeing flaws in everything I have. Hence my reluctance to submit anything technical to a photography challenge! So I’ll either get worse or better! Can’t wait til Monday!!!!😣 😣 😅
How cute! What a creative idea to make bouquets out of kitchen items.
Thank you – You should have seen the state of the kitchen afterwards!!!😅😅
LOL
What a clever idea! I confess I’m going way off-piste with my response this week – not only will there be no macro shots but it isn’t even my kitchen 😂
You rebel!!!!
Nice compositions of the vases and the items. As Dr B says just let the camera do the work
Thank you so much for your encouragement. I’m ok putting photos into my blog to support a travel item – but submitting them for a technical challenge is honestly unnerving! But I’ll admit its a good exercise and its pushing me – necessarily – out of my comfort zone.. XXXMarie
I never had any confidence when we used a real camera and manual settings but now with my phone and it’s macro setting I get down low and take a lot of photos that way.
Yes my phone has quite a good camera also. And at least it can do all the thinking for me!!
Great photos and really good arrangements — do you do flower arrangements, too, or just spoons?
Ha!! Thank you Margaret – alas, what you see in those 4 photos is the full extent of what my garden had to offer earlier today – apart from one piece of greenery which was actually the last relic from Valentine’s Day!! So as I’ve far more kitchen tools than flowers, I’ll have to stick with the cutlery drawer!! Mind you – I think I’ve stumbled on something here…. the opportunities are endless….!!!😅 😂
I love these! Good work! Were we supposed to do only macro shots? Well I flunked that then!
Great! Another partner in crime!!!
Haha, these are some nice looking kitchen bouquets!
Thanks Jess – I’m personally chuffed with the wooden spoons – considering I hardly ever bake, I’d no idea I’d so many of them in the drawer!!!
These are such unusual and fun bouquets!
Did you arrange them specially for this challenge? or do you have them displayed in your kitchen anyway?
I thought of doing one bouquet and raided the 2 drawers in the kitchen – then realised how much stuff I had – obviously rarely used !!!😅 😂 I’d no idea I’d so many ladles!!! And as for the wooden spoons……!!!😅
You are so funny! One arrangement just inspired others – fabulous! I love them all!
Ah thank you Ju-Lyn …. These challenges are new to me but I’m enjoying them and they’re a great distraction while we wait – like yourselves in Singapore – to get going again….. XXXMarie
Plus I get to meet new BlogFriends like yourself! Fun fun!
🥰 😘
This is such a fun challenge, and I love your second photo; that’s one seriously beautiful vase/jug!
That – thank you Aiva for drawing attention to it!!! – was bought in the souk in Fez a few years back. I love jugs!!
