How extraordinary life has become…..
but
…2021 saw a few slivers of light, offering glimmers of hope and which must be a cause for celebration, however small…
I was allowed to attend 1 funeral
and 2 weddings.
I got to the cinema once…..
…..and the theatre twice.
I enjoyed 2 staycations
and 2 hotel overnighters.
I’ve had 3 vaccine doses
and 3 trips abroad.
I’ve managed to meet up with family and friends for endless al fresco coffees and, in recent months, have even dined indoors…..
It’s the little things isn’t it – So how lucky am I!
Fellow bloggers, family and friends, I wish you all the joys of yet another strange Christmas and a better 2022.
For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way-
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.
NOLLAIG SHONA DAOIBH GO LÉIR!
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
XXX MARIE XXX
What a great list of the positives. Merry Christmas.
Despite everything around us, there’s plenty to be appreciative of….
Have a lovely Christmas. XXXXMarie 🎄 🎄 🎄
Merry Christmas! I also managed two trips abroad, „only“ to Switzerland, but so beautiful.
Wasn’t it just brilliant to get going anywhere at all….. Here’s to even more trips in 2022!!! Meanwhile, have a great Christmas. XXXMarie 🎅🏽🎅🏽
Positivity matters. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Absolutely!!! Have a wonderful Christmas… XXXMarie 🎅🏽🎅🏽
A lovely positive post Marie 😀 Yes, the little things have become even more important this year, and my list would be similar to yours but with more cinema visits and no theatres! We really appreciated our two short trips to Europe in a way we might not have done had we been travelling long haul during the year, and even a coffee in a coffee shop feels like a treat these days!
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and wish you a happy and more ‘normal’ New Year! 🎄🎅🎁🎉
You’re so right about the European trips… We went to a wedding in Spain and then planned Bremen with pals a few weeks back. So Cyprus in October was the only actual trip we’d planned for ourselves – what a change!! But we got so much benefit from all the trips – just being away was wonderful. AS of now, I’ve no clue as to what’s ahead but I’ll be delighted to get anywhere!!!
meanwhile, Have a lovely Christmas Sarah…… XXXXMarie 🎅🏽🎄 🎅🏽
Have a great one, Marie!
And back at ya!!! Enjoy the festivities such as they are and all the best for 2022! XXXMarie
Such positivity is immensely cheering and has made me realise how lucky I am – even if I didn’t manage all the travel that you did. Thanks for some inspiring posts this year, absolutely great photography, and it’s been a pleasure to have contact with you. I hope you don’t mind but I’ve sneaked a copy of your Irish Christmas wish to include in a few emails! The Irish I learned at the Gaeltacht has long since disappeared from memory but I like to impress a few old friends!
Hard as it is at times, all we can do is pull the positives from the situation!! Things worked out well for us this year Mari – we managed to travel safely both here and in Europe.
Thank you for your wonderful support always. I hope you’ve a lovely Christmas and get traveling in 2022…. XXXMarie
Took the whole Christmas season away from WP and Twitter – greatly improved my holiday I think although I did miss it on the first day. Now back and deleting hundreds of emails that I’ll never have time to read – especially as I was gifted with 5 books I wanted for Christmas. Now I merely have to find time to read them as well as the pile I have already waiting to be read, but what a lovely choice to have!
Isn’t it just!!! I’ve also been away from WP so apologies for not replying… Happy reading!!!
Love the positivity ,Marie. Now let’s hope those numbers can be doubled at least next year. We’ll ! excluding the funeral part.
And hopefully not up to the 6th Booster Barry!!!!!😅 😂 🤣
May this season be full of light and laughter for you and your family 🙂 Aiva xx
Hope the 3 of you had a wonderful Christmas Aiva. XXMarie
Yes, we have to downsize our travel desires, but it is also to better discover what is on our doorstep, and to travel more intensively when possible. Best wishes of happy and safe Holidays!
While I’m itching to get going again, I must admit I have learned SO much about my own neighbourhood and have discovered and rediscovered beautiful parts of my own country. If nothing else, I’ve a whole new appreciation of what’s around me…..
I share this feeling, except that from Paris the circle of possibilities is a little wider.
