It’s easy to understand the appeal of the sleepy town of Mirleft, way down the Atlantic coast. Thankfully, there is little sign of the mass tourism that has shaped the likes of Essaouira and Agadir since Morocco was ‘discovered‘ in the 1960’s. People come for the rolling hills, sharp cliffs, surf and sand ….
….and for the fish of course!

Lovely area! How did you go there, by car?
We rented a car at Agadir airport but there’s a bus service there as well as day trips from Agadir…
Looks a lovely spot! The doors are beautiful as are the shades of blue 💙 Did you self-drive there? How did you get on with that?
We’d a car for a week. Worked out great – Ramadan so roads very quiet but the main routes are paved and there were only a few places we couldn’t access with a regular car…
Looks fabulous! I’d love to see more of this beautiful place.
It’s all lovely – we’d planned to visit this area in 2019 but the trip fell through and then of course we’d Covid so it took us a while to get there but we loved it…
This is probably close to somewhere we stayed on our first Morocco road trip…a mostly deserted fishing village called Tifnit. Now that WAS an experience. You’re getting me very excited about seeing Morocco once more.
We’re already wondering where we might go if we return there!!
Wonderful, it’s great to see some more off the beaten track destinations in this wonderful country 🙂
Between coast, mountain and desert they have it all – not forgetting the amazing cities and resorts… it’s a great place for a holiday…
Those coastal views and photos are incredible…thanks for sharing you trip with us.
Glad you enjoyed, David… we’d a great trip….
I’ve never heard of it. So good to hear about these less-known places.
We’d no idea either until we started planning for another trip to Morocco and were looking for a region that was new to us but not too huge and spread out.
Hi again, I’m creeping back but slowly and trying desperately to catch up on people whose posts I love to read. I won’t have time to comment on your recent pieces but I shall read them all with pleasure and I am sure they will be as entertaining as always. I haven’t travelled now for over a year so I have nothing to offer in the way of travel stories, but I am hoping to getaway to Italy in late june for a week. I’m feeling quite desperate.
Wonderful to hear from you Mari….. we’ve all missed you. I truly hope you get to Italy – I know how much you love it. You won’t feel the time passing until then – sure it’s mid April already!
