This is Gielty’s on Achill Island – off Ireland’s west coast. To be fair, the place isn’t looking its best – we passed by on an absolutely miserable day – during Covid! But the sign is significant regardless of weather! There must a few pubs in the south west that would dispute the claim!

Hmm, Kruger’s at Dunquin (on the Dingle) I think. Still, a fine looking establishment.
I’d have thought Krugers …. they’re both claiming the title!
Looks as though it’s just been done up for the season, a fine looking place indeed. I’d give it a whirl anyway, a jar or a coffee, either would do on such a windswept day.
Indeed – except it was closed up much to our disgust – I can’t remember whether the pubs opened at all that summer – I know we ate in our accommodation every night because the restaurants weren’t open (June, 2021)…
I feel a quest coming on…..a pint in each of the northernmost, southernmost, east and west pubs …..
Ha!!! Any excuse!!!🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻
😂🍺
Signage is a nice splash of color!
It is – the place could do with a bit of colour!!
