SAMHRADH SONA DAOIBH GO LÉIR

We’re almost packed and really looking forward to ticking off a few more items from that never-shortening bucket list – Bolivian Salt Flats, Machu Picchu, Nazca Lines….

We come home for just enough time to get over the jet lag and clear the laundry before – with the epitome of bad planning – flying back across the Atlantic!!

We’ll spend a few days in Miami before joining a family event in Orlando and finishing up with a quick trip to the Keys. Not the best time of year for Florida but we were there in August before and lived to tell the tale!

I’ll catch up with all your posts eventually but meanwhile……..

Samhradh sona daoibh go léir – Happy Summer everyone!

  1. Well, I’m breathless just reading about it, so what your household is like I can’t imagine! Away you go and enjoy every minute of what looks like a fabulous tour. I shall just be sedately enjoying two weddings in London in late August/early September, after all my summer visitors have departed. Two still in bed after a riotous time at the IoW Pop Festival but they leave tomorrow. Quick laundry sort out then await the next lot. Do you need a bagman/woman? I wouldn’t cost much, honest.

  2. Safe and happy travels to you Marie! I can’t wait to read about your adventures, especially the Nazca Lines as I always regret leaving them off our Peru itinerary.

    1. Thanks Sarah – Yes Nazca is definitely one of the highlights ahead of us – my brother did it years ago and I always envied him!

    1. Thanks Sheree – I’ve just spent a precious hour trying to unblock my mobile banking – typical isn’t it!!! All sorted (I hope) so back to the packing!

  3. Bolivia and Peru are two countries that have preserved their authenticity, despite heavy tourist traffic. I have such fond memories of my travels in this part of the world, which has so much to surprise and interest us.

  4. Sounds exhausting but exciting. Hoping to get to the Keys next year, so looking forward to reading about your accommodation and the photos.

    1. WE’d a wonderful summer Aiva – just settling down now to begin writing about it all… nothing else booked for now so the memories will have to do me!!!

  5. Since you are heading to equatorial places, may I also suggest Ecuador mainland and the Galapagos to your travel plans? Or how about the glacier fields in Chile?

    1. We were lucky enough to get to Ecuador and Galapagos in 2023 (although it ended badly with 2 broken bones!!). I never thought we’d make it back to South America – how lucky are we. I’d love Chile but not sure if we’ll get back a 3rd time…. BUT! If life has taught me anything it’s never say never!
