Hi all!
Remember me!!
Just checking in on you – it’s been a while….
A mini break from hopsskipsandjumps, while we were in New Zealand in March, morphed into an extended hiatus following – as Lemony Snicket would have it – a Serious of Unfortunate Events. That’s just life of course but it hasn’t all been doom and gloom and we managed to get travelling again over the summer.
Now, a new year looms ( my ‘New Year’s resolutions always start on September 1st!!!) and I’m looking forward to getting back on track and finding my rhythm again. First thing will be navigating any changes to WordPress – boy, do I need a refresher course!!!! Meanwhile, sincerest apologies to those of you who posted comments which have gone unacknowledged – I will get to you soon. And I’m determined to tackle the tens of thousands of emails in my inbox and catch up on what you’ve all been up to over the past 6 months!!
I’ll leave you with a taste of what’s to come …….
XXXMarie

Thanks for the update and sorry to hear about a tough road and challenges for you recently. Looking forward to reading about your recent getaways. All the best.
Thanks a mil Annie – determined to start tipping away at it…. XXXMarie
Good to see you back on track Marie.. never doubted you.
Teresa
Thanks Tre 😘😘😘
Welcome back! Sorry to learn that you’ve been having a tough time recently, but be assured you are among friends here on WordPress. Looking forward to hearing what you made of New Zealand – we loved it, and regretted not visiting decades earlier! And who doesn’t love a ring-tailed lemur?!
Ah Thanks for that…. Yes – I’ve a few travel stories to share…. Our trip to NZ was cut short but we spent 2 weeks on South Island before we had to come home and loved it. And Yes – I’m a lemur expert now!!!( NOT!!)😅
It’s good to see you back, hope the blog helps you get back into your routine. So we can expect NZ, Ireland, Slovenia and a few others.
Thank you – routine is so essential isn’t it – especially for this!! I’ve plenty to write about anyway – looking back, I haven’t even written up everything from last years travels!
The most important thing is that you are here again and again… always welcome. My hug! (Beautiful photos)
Thank you for that!!!😘😘
Great to hear from you and to know that all is well your end. I too, have taken a lng break from WP, sadly not because of travelling but a spate of accidents and age-related events. But again, like you, I keep thinking of tackling it again but my writing muscle seems to have gone to sleep and as I haven’t travelled in ages, even locally (I can’t drive any more and even walking is difficult) the part of my brain that dealt with travel has atrophied. I look forward to reading of your adventures down under – you might even have bumped into my nephew who lives in Napier – and don’t let the kids get you down when you’re back in the thick of it!
And great to hear from you Mari – you’ve had it tough – maybe once the winter sets in you might start back with the odd post. And yes – we were in Napier – what a lovely place to live – lucky him!!!
Well well at last welcome back! Cheers
Thank you – it’s actually great to see all the familiar names!!!!
I can imagine, same feeling here. Cheers
Welcome back!
Thanks Timothy – looking forward to catching up with everyone.
I’m sorry to hear about the Unfortunate Events, but it’s great to see you back! Those tasters are intriguing, I especially love the lemur 🙂 I look forward to hearing all about your adventures since we last caught up.
Thanks Sarah. I knew you’d love the lemur! Looking forward to catching up with your travels also- Antarctica – wow!!
Great photos Marie, sounds like you’re having the sort of year I’m having! Stay positive 😊
Will do Alison – you too😘
Ahh nice to hear from you Marie, I had been wondering if you were ok 🙂
Thanks a mil Hannah – I’m fine. I’ll be catching up with your travels – need to go through emails.
I didn’t realize you were in NZ in March! We just missed you! We were there for all of April and part of May.
Between one thing and another I haven’t written a word about it yet! We had to cut it short and go home – my mum took a turn – but we’d 2 lovely weeks in South Island and had just crossed to Wellington when we got the call. We were lucky to be so close to an airport as it happened. We’d a wonderful time – Ireland on steroids as they say!!!!
Sorry to hear about your mom and that you had to fly home early.
Ah thank you – it was her time alas….. but she held on for me and I’d a few days with her which was wonderful. XXXMarei
