That fooled me! We’ll look for it next time we’re in Paris – we were only at the Louvre end of the gardens last month as the Olympic torch was back in town 🙂
I’m ASSUMING it’s still there! I was shocked to realise the photo is from 2018!!! Can’t believe it’s been that long since we were last there – scary!!
It may not be then – I’m sure we’ve been right through the gardens more recently than that. Although we might have mistaken it for a fallen tree and not gone over for a closer look!
I just checked it there – According to AI its still there! I can’t remember whether I’d read about it or just came across it by accident…
Fooled me too!
The root system is particularly convincing, isn’t it!
Magnificent
And clever also!
That’s a great sculpture. How long has it been there?
The piece is dated 1999 and I think it was installed then….
Wow!
It means the ‘tree of vowels’ Apparently the roots resemble the 5 vowels. Of course i didn’t know that at the time so it’s significance was totally lost on me!!
Looks real!
I’d say people walk past it all the time!!
I’ve seen a tree like that on a path I hike in the woods. It fooled me.
Are there other pieces of art along the way or is it a one of?
The one near me is a real tree. The one in your picture was convincing as a real one.
Marie, I guess it takes all types, as Fallen does nothing for me as a work of art. Call me a Philistine, if you like!
Ah it’s OK Annie! I wont take it personally😅😅
Must confuse the local population of wood-boring beetles.
A very mean trick to play on them to be sure!!!
Wow! That fooled me too.
So it works then!!!
I have often wondered about the need for this sculpture in the Tuileries Garden.
That’s art for you I suppose – one man’s meat is another man’s poison.. I like the fact that despite its size, it’s possible to miss it completely when walking past!
