The Cardboard Cathedral, Christchurch, is a transitional structure – replacing the main Cathedral which was badly damaged in the 2011 earthquake. It gets it’s name from the materials used in its construction – 96 heavy duty cardboard tubes, attached to shipping containers which form the base of the walls. FOR DEBBIE’S ONE WORD SUNDAY

I’ve used this one before – but I love it!!! Cesária Évora was a Morna singer from Cape Verde. This mural is in Mindelo on São Vicente Island. Portuguese artist Vhils drilled and scraped layers from the wall to form a low relief portrait. FOR DEBBIE’S ONE WORD SUNDAY
