Thank you Sheree from viewfromtheback for directing me towards this weekly challenge from Mind over Memory . I’ve decided to give it a go…
I’m starting with this piece from a trip to Bratislava in January 2019. It caught my eye in the middle of a snow blizzard!
I only discovered later that it’s actually a fountain – Fountain Joy of Life, 1983 by Tibor Bartfay.
If you’d also like to take part:-
- Share a photo of a sculpture
- Link to the Mind over Memory post for Saturday Sculpture

My God, they must be cold!
Well I certainly was!!!!
Glad to see you are participating in these challenges, they are so much fun! And I can’t believe you visited Bratislava in the middle of the winter, must have been amazing to see snow! I always long for it. Thanks for sharing and have a good day 😀 Aiva
Hi Aiva – this is the first challenge for me. I’m not a photographer so reluctant to submit photos for such posts but decided to give it a go. Yes – Bratislava in winter!! We went to Vienna for new year and then on to Bratislava for a few days. It just snowed on the last day. Apparently it got very bad after we left so we were lucky to get home when we did.
You want sculptures … come to Amesbury, We have 9 … including 6 made by QinetiQ engineering apprentices at nearby Boscombe Down.
Gosh Keith they’re great – the horse is amazing!
