A PHOTO CHALLENGE OF PLACES WE SIT…OR MIGHT SIT…OR ART ABOUT SITTING
The Musée d’Orsay is located in an old railway station which was built to bring visitors to the World Fair in 1900. Just imagine the grandeur!!! The restaurant is still in the same place today, beautifully adorned with frescos, sculptures and chandeliers.
The chairs caught my eye when I was last in Paris in 2018. I wouldn’t exactly fancy them in my own kitchen but they suit the room perfectly. Practical (stackable and easily cleaned) yet elegant enough amidst the sumptuous decor, they were designed by the Italian artist Jacopo Foggini.

To play along:
XingfuMama posts every Friday morning.
- Create a post with a photo of places one sits or might sit, or art about sitting, and maybe a little background or story about the spot or a picture of the view.
- Add a tag “Pull up a seat”.
- Add a link to your post in the comment section, either by writing a comment with your URL or by creating a pingback
Beautiful and elegant
Especially in that particular setting…..
I love those chairs! And yes, I would even consider them for my own kitchen although I need them in different shades 😆
I wouldn’t mind it in grey….
I was thinking green …
It’s probably in green somewhere in the room…. there’s yellow also which looks nice (but the photo was bad!!!)
Can’t believe I missed out on visiting The Musée d’Orsay when I was in Paris. Wonderful collection of photos, Marie. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely weekend. Aiva 🙂 xxx
Impossible to see everything – especially in Paris!
Hope you enjoying the sunshine – what a gorgeous weekend….
I like those chairs! 😀
They’d look well there in Cincinnati!!
Love the bright colors.
Nothing subtle about the colour or design!
