That fish is great fun but the real treat here was seeing Mollie Malone and reading those lyrics. My mother used to sing that song to us, often (for some reason that strikes me now as odd!) at bath time 🙂

A nice memory to evoke – I wonder where she knew the song from….
She knew lots of traditional (and not so traditional) songs, and had a good voice. I wish I’d inherited it!

Poor Molly is coming in for a hard time these days! As you can see from the photo – she has been well groped! For good luck of course!! The council are threatening to move her if it doesn’t stop – suggestions of a permanent patrol or raising the plinth are too expensive. Surrounding her with flower boxes seems to be the most cost effective – although i doubt it will be enough of a deterrent!
Stop the Stag parties! Drastic I know, but the only effective way to stop the groping.
