Stunning!
It really is!!!!
🙂 🙂 🙂
Loved visiting the Cliffs of Moher when we toured Ireland. Happy that you might be exploring Newfoundland next, as we visited in mid June 2022, and loved it. I just resumed publishing last night my first post about our travels there since 2022 to finish off at long last!
Not heading there any time soon Annie! We Irish tend to stand on the west coast and say ‘next stop…… be it the USA or Newfoundland!!! Only the Atlantic in between! Having said that, we were in Newfoundland in 2011 and loved it (although very like home). It was really strange to hear the Irish accents! You’re worse than me! I’ve trips from ’24 and ’25 to write up but I can barely remember ’22!!!!
Beautiful spot.
It’s fabulous – on a good day!! Not so lovely in the wind and rain!!!
This is such a wonderful place, dear Marie, and I haven’t been to it for years now. I love the towering cliffs, the vast Atlantic, and the distant Aran Islands that all together create unforgettable scenery. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx
We’re lucky to have such beauty close to us Aiva – I’ll be the first to admit that we don’t take full advantage of it…
Same here, Marie, same here xx
I visited the Cliffs of Moher before the tourist facilities were developed. We would stop precariously at best on the side of the road before walking along narrow paths above the cliff edge. The tourist facilities developed in recent years provide real comfort and are quickly forgotten once you move away from the starting point. It remains a great Irish experience, but beware of bad weather.
Tom is from that part of the world so I’ve the same memories of just pulling up the car and and going for a bit of a stroll. I don’t know if you ever visited Slieve League in Donegal – my parents were from there so I spent a lot of time in the area – they’ve recently added similar tourist facilities and, while some development was badly needed, I really miss the free, casual access to the cliffs there also….
oooooo, you got a beautiful day and with some purple heather blooming too (I think) Have fun in Newfoundland. Happy New Year
Yes – we were lucky enough – no weather guarantees in that part of the world .
What a beautiful view on a glorious day. Next step Newfoundland made me smile 🙂
it’s causing a bit of confusion me thinks!!! I’ll have to rein in the Irish wit!!!!!!
I knew what you meant 😂
😅😅
Excellent post!
Ah thank you!!! Glad you enjoyed!
That’s a long way Forward!
