CHALLENGE YOUR CAMERA: #10 CLOSE UP

Each week, Dr. B from Buddha Walks into a Wine Bar selects a single theme to point our cameras at or to encourage us to display a few photos from our collections. I certainly don’t present myself as a photographer but I’m happy to root through my photos and select the most passable!!!

This week, we are to discover the limits of our phone or digital camera. I tried the camera but had more success with the phone. It was way too wet to head outside so I’ve settled for furnishing fabrics instead!! The most difficult part was actually holding the phone steady – and the more I thought about it of course, the shakier I got!!

If you would like to join Dr B in #challengeyourcamera then here’s what to do:

1.Follow Dr B (link above) to discover the chosen weekly theme.
2. Select or take a few photos related to the week’s theme
3. Post your own photos that week, on any day you like.
4. Include a caption with each photo so we all know what/where it is
5. Include a ping back/link to Dr B’s blog in your post so that he’s notified, can follow you back and can appreciate and comment on your choices.

In addition:

1. Dr. B will follow you back.

3. He will list each blogger in my weekly post.

It’ll be fun, why not join in?

  1. Interesting that your phone was better than the camera, was it an iPhone? Shake is the worst enemy to close up photography, I’ve lost count how many images I’ve ruined because I was really shaking trying to get extra close to an insect and it was filling the whole screen. Also sometimes it’s the subject that’s moving, for example I was out yesterday walking and tried to get a photo of the pollen on the buds of a willow. But there was a slight breeze and on screen it looked like there was a hurricane! On some occasions I’ve almost burst because I was holding my breath trying not to blow an insect away 😂

    1. No – I’ve an Android. – I wouldn’t judge the camera though – more the photographer!!!😅 (Me I mean – not you!!! 😅)

    1. Absolutely – on the downside – most items in the photos are now on the replacement list whenever I get back shopping… -the number of stains, flaws and worn bits was astonishing 😅

  2. I’m always amazed at what a macro does to change the perception of an object! You’ve captured some lovely textures.

I find it interesting that you had greater success with your phone than camera – I was just bemoaning how I understand now why photographers have cameras.

  3. Tackling a photography project is not only a great way to improve your photography skills but it can keep you from feeling like you take the same photo every day. Capturing close-ups sounds like a fun challenge, Marie 🙂

    1. The challenges are good fun because they make me think. I’m determined to work on my photography skills – which I’ve been saying for the past year of course!!!

  4. They may be no longer pristine but I love your throws and lampshades and all of it. You’ve captured the colours and textures beautifully and that’s wonderful. Shows you have an eye for what works even if you don’t feel it.
    Great stuff. Thank you. Mx
