Greetings from Dublin City Centre – the Parade is over but the streets are still teeming. Absolutely wonderful to see so many visitors enjoying themselves….

Happy Saint Patrick day in Dublin! Là Frèile Pàdraig Sona Daoibh!!
Well done you! I declare you an Honorary Irishman!!!
🎸🎸🎸
Now watching Ireland beating England 24×16 VI Nations
Dublin will be wild tonight!!!!!
Indeed I imagine
Celebrating St Patrick’s Day in Dublin looks like a very joyful happy occasion.
It was a great occasion – lovely to see so many groups of non Irish and new Irish enjoying themselves…
Belated happy St Patrick’s Day Marie ☘☘☘ We were out in London last night and there were lots of revellers there too!
It definitely goes in waves but there seems to be a lot of young Irish working in London at the moment. I don’t know how they celebrate the occasion – I know my uncle sent me a photo from a session in Hammersmith – I think he goes there every year. Hope you’d a good night yourself!! XXXMarie
I hope you had a fun St. Patrick’s Day and that the celebration continues throughout the weekend!
The hospitality trade here is thrilled when March 17th falls on a Friday!! There’ll be plenty of sore heads by Sunday night!!!😅 😂
I envy you guys (and others) in this respect, having huge celebrations on your Saint’s day. I have no idea why we English don’t do it and I seriously wish that we did.
The religious aspect of St. Patrick’s day has greatly waned but the festival is still hugely popular – You’re right – I think that any event that highlights the culture of a country is worthwhile. A trip to Portugal a few years back coincided with St. John’s Eve in Porto – now THAT was a party!! It is odd that St George has never celebrated to the same extent.
Amazing so good to see people celebrating again after COVID 🙂
It was very much Business as Usual which was brilliant (having said that – I know of 3 Covid cases this past week – it hasn’t gone away!!)
Happy St. Patricks Day!
And to you Lissy! Do you go to the NYC Parade?
I guess it’s like going to Oktoberfest in Munich — St. Paddy’s Day in Dublin. So MUCH green. Bernie
I’d LOVE to go to Oktoberfest – always said we’d do it when retired. Don’t know if I could handle the crowds any more – a lot of effort for a pint! Oh dear – that sounds very old and defeatist doesn’t it!!!😖
If you go earlier in the day it’s not so bad..hard to get accommodations during so one has to plan well ahead. Just don’t stay past 9 at night as then it’s a crush to get out and onto the trains. It’s definitely am awesome atmosphere.
Hopefully some time…..XXXMarie
