    1. It definitely goes in waves but there seems to be a lot of young Irish working in London at the moment. I don’t know how they celebrate the occasion – I know my uncle sent me a photo from a session in Hammersmith – I think he goes there every year. Hope you’d a good night yourself!! XXXMarie

    1. The hospitality trade here is thrilled when March 17th falls on a Friday!! There’ll be plenty of sore heads by Sunday night!!!😅 😂

    1. The religious aspect of St. Patrick’s day has greatly waned but the festival is still hugely popular – You’re right – I think that any event that highlights the culture of a country is worthwhile. A trip to Portugal a few years back coincided with St. John’s Eve in Porto – now THAT was a party!! It is odd that St George has never celebrated to the same extent.

    1. It was very much Business as Usual which was brilliant (having said that – I know of 3 Covid cases this past week – it hasn’t gone away!!)

    1. I’d LOVE to go to Oktoberfest – always said we’d do it when retired. Don’t know if I could handle the crowds any more – a lot of effort for a pint! Oh dear – that sounds very old and defeatist doesn’t it!!!😖

      1. If you go earlier in the day it’s not so bad..hard to get accommodations during so one has to plan well ahead. Just don’t stay past 9 at night as then it’s a crush to get out and onto the trains. It’s definitely am awesome atmosphere.
