One of the quieter trails as I recall – even in August it wasn’t busy…
Now that’s a simple bench to encounter on a nature walk.
Definitely good use of local materials!
Simple but serves its purpose.
And not intrusive in any way….blends so well with the surrounding nature…. XXXMarie

Marie, when I was a child we spent several vacations in the mountains of NC’s Great Smokey Mountains… Hope you enjoyed your time there, too!
We’d a lovely time Virginia – we spent just a few days there in August 2018. We were based in Gatlinburg (TN) which was a bit much – even after the excesses of Nashville! – but it was handy for the Park. We expected the Park to be very busy but we’d absolutely no problem getting around and getting parking etc. Because we were trying to see everything in a short time we concentrated on the shorter more popular trails but managed to get a good overview I think. The road took us into NC one of the days but our trip as a whole was based in TN… we were in NC a few years earlier though – we drove the Blue Ridge Parkway as far as Ashville but hadn’t time to continue to the Great Smoky Mtns so it was nice to get back and finish it. There are so many amenities there – a great place for family vacations…. XXXMarie
